About
Last updated: January 2012
Hi.
What do you want to know about me? You know, besides the fact I have a blog.
To start, I am 26 years old. For four years I was employed as a banker. I bet you all find me really scary now! Now I am a nanny coordinator, mark. makeup representative, and aspiring photographer.
I grew up in Iowa. I went to a Bible college there. I am pretty sure I have learned way more about God, Jesus Christ, and the ministry out in Real Life than in Bible College.
I moved to Utah in 2007 for a boy. The boy and I have now parted ways.I lived in Utah for three years, and now live in South Dakota. The irony is…. once again, I moved for a boy! At least now I am closer to Iowa. If you ask anyone, I am still an Iowan. You can take the girl out of Iowa, but you can’t take Iowa out of the girl.
My favorite color is cerulean blue.
When I started this blog, I was single. Well, now I am taken. I happened to find a man with a love of Christian Reformed theology, and the ability to sing show tunes. I sent him to my blog. Now he is my husband Scott. We married April 17, 2010. You can find him here.
I am a very serious Christian. I’m a Reformed Baptist. My husband and I attend a United Reformed church. Being a Christian, though, is more important than being Baptist or United Reformed.
I love music, books, art, and theater. Books are my crack. I read when I am not doing something else. I write intermittently and dream of being an author. I am active and love hiking but think that running is for people who are being chased and camping is for people who are homeless. I adore photography and constantly want more gear.
I am wholly and unabashedly a city girl, and have never lived in a metropolitan area under a population of 120,000 people. I am an attention-seeking people-pleaser.
I tend to over-analyze things and talk too much. I drink copious amounts of coffee. I occasionally enjoy a glass of Riesling. Kids are fun, but its been very recently when I realized that I wanted a family of my own. Maybe meeting the right man was part of that.
I look nice in pink. But my favorite color is blue and I think I look even better in it. I even used three shades of it for my wedding colors!
Don’t mention politics unless you want to hear me babble about why Ron Paul is right.
Being a Christian has been the hardest and most rewarding path I have ever taken for myself.
Papa John’s Pizza is the greatest kind there is, ever, period, hands down.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and Dr. Pepper are both equally amazing treats for me. Feel free to bribe me with lots of both!
I once gave a friend a box of 64 cerulean blue crayons. You can get customized boxes of crayons at crayola.com, in case you are wondering.
When I was little, I wanted to grow up and be an author. Now, I am technically grown up, hardly see myself as such, and I still want to be an author.
I’m a birthday princess. December 8. I expect cards.
At one time, I was unsure that I wanted to have children. I didn’t think I would be a good mother. Now I have a son. His name is Alexander and he was born December 20, 2011. (We expect cards.) You can read his birth story here, here, here, and here. (Yes, my labor was that long.) Isn’t he cute?
Did I mention I was strange?
Welcome to my blog.

Is it possible to be a Baptist and dig Christian Reformed Theology? And drink Reisling? Hehehehe.
heck yeah it is!
I, too am a Christian. My husband pastor’s a church. I am a makeup artist. I like your candidness about your faith. Some are called to be like that. I, myself surely don’t hide it…but I find the stealth bomber approach works best for me! I hope you find love in Utah! I hear it’s beautiful!
today marks our “one year since we met” anniversary!
